Ulticon Builders Incorporated (UBI), one of the largest construction companies in the Philippines, donated two loads of screened sand and gravel to Valencia City’s Barangay Kahaponan on July 22, 2019 to be used for the construction of the sitio chapel and the basketball court pavement. The barangay officials see the value of both facilities in their barangay residents’ holistic well-being as one provides religious services while the other promotes health and fitness through sports.
UBI aims for these and other similar future grassroots projects to help encourage social engagement and community involvement. The company believes that a more active citizenry could contribute immensely to achieving the goals of a barangay to reach its socio-cultural and economic potentials and eventually improve the lives of its residents.
Bukidnon has always been on the radar of UBI. Simultaneous with extending assistance to Bukidnon’s local government units and communities, UBI has also been rehabilitating and building roads and bridges in the country’s 5th richest province. The Aglayan-Zamboguita Road has helped energize trade and commerce in its area. Meanwhile, the 56-kilometer Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia-Bukidnon Road adds to Mindanao’s new generation of exceptional infrastructure and seeks to connect Bukidnon to Davao del Norte for easier access and a more vibrant economy.
